Two fires cause nearly $300,000 in damage

OTTAWA, On.- There were no injuries in a pair of fires Saturday evening.
Emergency crews responded to calls to a fire at the site of Ambico Limited at 1090 on Cummings Road just after 11 p.m. The site is property of Stats Canada and contains a large supply of tools.
The damages are estimated at $250,000 and $10,000 to a nearby structure
Smoke was reported on several floors at nearby Montfort hospital. However upon arrival, fire crews shut off all ventialtion and confirmed the source of the smoke was not on site. The smoke was from the Cummings Road fire.
Meanwhile, there was a fire at 4200 Carp Road just after 10 p.m. Ottawa fire crews quickly put out the fire they say was caused by flames that had spread from a fireplace through an adjacent wall.
Damages are estimated at $10,000.
