As if people awaiting surgery weren’t already anxious enough… an international study found Canada has the third-highest incidence of foreign objects being left inside patients after being sewn up after surgery.

Canada also did poorly when it came to accidental punctures and when it came surgical wait times.

The Canadian Institute of Health Information told The National Post Canadian surgical teams need to do a better job of following safety protocol
