World AIDS Day

Today is World AIDS Day and a new study done on mice is offering hope for a new way to protect against H-I-V infection.

Researchers injected mice with a protective gene, which appeared to give mice complete protection against H-I-V, the virus that causes AIDS.

Experts are impressed with the results and scientists hope to start testing it in people within a couple of years.

The research was reported online yesterday in the journal Nature
