Second shooting in Surrey in less than 24 hours

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A woman is recovering in hospital after being shot in Surrey. It happened at an apartment suite on King George Boulevard near University Drive.
When officers arrived around 3 a.m. they found a 54-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the chest. She’s expected to make a full recovery.
No one has been arrested and investigators are now trying to piece together a possible motive. “I don’t have any information at this time about that. We are still investigating that aspect at this time,” says Staff Sergeant Heather Stark.
Less than 24 hours earlier, a 28-year-old man was shot and killed while attending a house party at 132nd Street and 67 A Avenue in Surrey. The victim did not have a criminal record and police have yet to make an arrest.
“I can’t say these two incidents are related at this time because the investigation is still new,” adds Stark.
