Man dragged by car at Camp Fortune

A 66-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries to his head and face after he was dragged under a car in a parking lot near the Camp Fortune ski hill.

Camp Fortune spokesperson Erin Boucher told 1310News what they believe happened.

“It’s our understanding that there was a gentleman walking on the side of the road, and there was a car backing out of the P-10 parking lot, which is where the cross country skiiers park, and the car hit the man and we gather [it] ended up dragging him,” she said

Boucher added that with skiers excited to have the first real snow, the Camp Fortune parking lots were full, and the man likely parked along the side of the road.

Boucher said access to the ski hill was delayed while police investigated but things have now returned to normal.

Upon arrival to the hospital the man was in critical condition, but has since been stabilized.
