Kanata man sufferes burns attempting to put out a fire

OTTAWA – A Kanata man attempted to put out a fire in his garage shortly before midnight on Monday, but had to call 9-1-1 for help.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a garbage can on fire inside a garage, and quickly put it out.
The homeowner suffered burns to his arms and legs.
Ottawa fire told 1310News the cause of the fire was accidental and damage is estimated at $30,000.
