Salt Spring Island senior killed in Mexico shooting

SALT SPRING ISLAND, BC – Salt Spring Island is dealing with the loss of a well-loved senior and longtime mechanic after a shooting in Mexico.
Robin Wood, 68, was killed during a home invasion in Malaque on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
Erik Lundstrom with the Beddis Road Garage, where Wood worked, says his co-worker was known for being upbeat.
“It was just his cheerful attitude, he was always optimistic in life, you know? And with all the stuff that happened to him over the years he was always happy,” Lundstrom tells 1310News
Melaque is a small resort town south of Puerto Vallarta. Foreign Affairs officials in Ottawa and at the Canadian Consulate in Puerto Vallarta are providing assistance to the family.
