Eastern Ontario is getting $3.8 million to help care for patients with dementia and other neurological disorders.
The provincial funding will be used to hire 48 health care workers and is meant to improve care at nursing homes and keep more people at home for as long as possible.
The Citizen says the first of the specially trained nurses, support workers, and case managers should be on the job in the community and at some of the region’s 62 nursing homes by April.
