OTTAWA – A new year, a new bus schedule. Monday marks the day of OC Transpo’s new winter schedule. It will be making service improvements by adding 66,000 service hours to address growing demands and ridership.
Based on fall ridership data, additional funding will be allocated to improve capacity on Routes 2X 4, 5, 16, 30, 87, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 106, 111, 118, 120, 143, 148, 169, 261, 263 and 691.
Articulated buses will be added to Routes 4, 38, 60, 62, 87, 93 and 114 during peak hours.
Changes also include a new Park & Ride at Scotiabank {lace, intended to ease the pressure on the Eagleson Park & Ride location.
OC Transpo General Manager of Transit Services Alain Mercier said an additional $5.5 million in funding will allow improved on-time performance to Route 129 “and to increase the ability to respond to day-to-day variation in operations as it occurs on all routes.”
