Liberals change party structure

The federal Liberals have changed their party structure and will now have both members and supporters.

The supporters would not have to pay to be in the party but may not have all the privileges.

There was a passionate debate at the party’s policy convention between supporters and opponents. Some argue it will expand the party while others say it creates a two-tiered system.

Many MP’s including interim leader Bob Rae threw their weight behind the amendment and it passed with 75 per cent in favour.
