Six charged in west-end home invasion

OTTAWA – Police have charged six people following home invasion in the city’s west-end.
Justin Melville, 20, and Joshua Briere, 23, are both charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
Jeffery Gerrior, 20, Christopher Uniat, 19, Yacin Osman, 19, and Carl Beverly, 19, are charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, robbery/theft with violence or threats of violence, and robbery.
Gerrior, Uniat and Osman also face several other charges, including possessing a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and assault with a weapon.
Police said the suspects forced their way into 1800 Baseline Road Friday morning and held the occupants at gunpoint. They then stole various items.
Police have seized the 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun used in the invasion.
One person suffered stab wounds and was treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.
