Canadian beaten in Mexico identified

KINGSTON, N.S. – The uncle of a Canadian woman who was beaten in Mexico has identified the victim as a 37-year-old Calgary resident originally from Nova Scotia.

Robert Prosser of Kingston, N.S., says Sheila Nabb had many bones in her face broken from a vicious beating at her hotel.

Prosser says his niece was hurt while vacationing at a hotel on Mexico’s west coast.

He says her mother informed him that Nabb was found in a pool of blood in an elevator at the Hotel Riu Emerald Bay in Mazatlan.

She is now in an intensive care unit in a local hospital.
