NAC posts $801,000 surplus in 2010-2011

The National Arts Centre has earned a surplus of $801,000 in its 2010-2011 season and attracted more than 500,000 paid customers that season, up 12 per cent from the year before. The N.A.C also drew 1.65 million to its website.

The N.A.C. delivered its annual report yesterday at Parliament Hill showing the strides it’s made in using multi-media and social media to attract people to its services both in-house and online.

It’s called “The N.A.C.: Wherever You Are” and highlights the new media efforts working to reach out to new audiences in Canada and around the world.

The stats show that more people than ever are using online video, programming, podcasts, and n-a-c orchestra downloads.

The N.A.C. presented 29 per cent more performances last year and increased its subscribers by eight per cent.
