A 45-year-old Ottawa man has been arrested in connection to a child luring investigation.

Police said they caught the man after an officer, posing as a 14-year-old girl was contacted by him in an internet chatroom.

The man engaged in a conversation for a sexual purpose with the officer and made arrangements to meet with the officer.

The man was using the pseudonym of William Black and Scott Black to communicate with youth online.

Scott W. Dobson is charged with seven counts of computer contact with a person under 16-year-old and two counts of computer contact with a person under 18 years old for a sexual purpose.

He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

Police are asking anyone who has had online contact with someone called Scott Black or William Black to call the ICE unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5660.
