Levels of condom use among sexually active teens and young adults is up, according to a report from Statistics Canada.
The actual rate of use rose 6 per cent between 2003 and 2009, according to the report.
The latest statistics indicate two-thirds of people aged 15 to 24 have reported having sexual intercourse at least once.
Interestingly, the report found levels of condom use actually fell as the age of people rose.
While 80 per cent of 15-to-18-year-olds (who had partaken in sexual intercourse) reported using condoms, only 63 per cent between the ages of 20 to 24 said they used them.
