Barn destroyed by fire in Ottawa’s south end

Ottawa fire crews were kept busy on Thursday evening battling a blaze in a barn on Prince of Wales Drive.
While the barn only contained hay, firefighters were mostly concerned with keeping the flames away from the two storey home located beside the burning barn.
However, the home did suffer minor damages.
Five people living inside the house, including 4 children, have been left without a roof over their heads temporarily as hydro was disconnected during the blaze.
Damages from the fire are estimated at $100,000.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
