Rangers force Game 7 with 3-2 win in Game 6

OTTAWA – The New York Rangers held on for a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 6 at Scotiabank Place Monday. With the win, the Rangers have forced a Game 7 to be played at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
The Senators got off to a good start in the first period. Chris Neil scored a powerplay goal to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead.
But the 2nd period belonged to the Rangers. New York scored three consecutive goals to take a 3-1 lead going into the 3rd period.
The Senators would make it close at the end of the game. Jason Spezza scored with 39 seconds remaining in regulation to make it 3-2, but the Rangers would hold on.
Also of note, Jacob Silfverberg made his NHL debut for the Senators, playing on a line with Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek.
Game 7 is on Wednesday in New York.
