“Griffin” Lost Congo African Grey Parrot found

OTTAWA – A beloved Congo African Grey parrot that had gone missing in the city’s west end, has been located safe and sound.

Griffin, the grey parrot with a vibrant red tail went missing Sunday evening 2 blocks west of Carlingwood Shopping Centre in the Woodpark neighbourhood according to his owner Trina Regimbal.

A tweet from Regimbal late Monday night said Griffin had been found.

“We are so blessed and so tired after 24 hours of Griffin the parrot lost is back home safe and warm we would like to say thank you to all xx.”

Regimbal told 1310News Griffin is a very friendly bird and there were several things people could do if they spotted him.

“Keep calling to him, “Here buddy-buddy, Griffin-Griffin, go Sens go! or step-up step-up.”

Griffin’s wings had been clipped recently but began to grow back which has allowed him to gain flight.

Regimbald told 1310News she was worried for Griffin’s health and safety as he was without food and water.
