OTTAWA – “Sex: A Tell-All Exhibition” may be a controversial exhibit for the Science and Technology Museum, but it’s certainly bringing in visitors.
The beautiful weather may have had many of us spending time outdoors, but the museum’s Olivier Bouffard says about 3,000 people visited this weekend. That’s about 100 more than the same time last year.
“Roughly 50 per cent of the visitors who came to the museum over the course of the weekend did visit the ‘Sex: A Tell-All Exhibition,” Bouffard tells 1310News. “If I compare it to the previous traveling exhibition that we had in that space, which was ‘SIO2: The Science of Glass,’ I think it’s fair to say that it’s a higher turnout.”
Bouffard says he can’t directly link the increase in visitors to the exhibition, however…
“What we do see is that even through the weather was beautiful and perhaps not usually the type of weather that would drive a strong clientele to the museum, there was indeed a strong turnout.”
Despite the controversy, Bouffard says visitor comments have been overwhelmingly positive.
