End of the Auto Trader

It’s the end of an era for car fans.     Many people in the market for a vehicle have started their quest by leafing through the Auto Trader.      That is coming to an end.   This week, is the final print edition of the venerable publication and 16 other issues put out by the company.   Jamie Blundell is the vice president of operations at the Trader and he says it’s all part of a transition.   “Although it may be ending in print, it’s at the early stages of on-line and mobile”.

Blundell tells 1310News, the company makes most of it’s revenues through the on-line business.   “85 per cent of people that are interested in buying or selling a car do their research on line”.

The Quebec version, Auto Hebdo and Maritimes Auto Trader will continue to print for now.
