Head found in Montreal park belonged to Jun Lin

Montreal police have confirmed that the head found over the long weekend in a park belonged to Jun Lin.

Lin was allegedly murdered by self-proclaimed porn star Luka Rocco Magnotta, who was arrested in Germany on June 4.

Police say that, with this confirmation, they have now recovered all of Jun Lin’s remains.

A rush was put on DNA testing after the head was located in Angrignon Park on Sunday.  Police say they were lead to the location through a tip.

The provincial crime lab then confirmed that the DNA matched that of Lin.

Luka Magnotta is accused of killing Lin, dismembering his body, mailing the hands to political offices in Ottawa and the feet to schools in Vancouver.

Lin’s torso and other remains were found near a dumpster outside Magnotta’s Montreal apartment.

Magnotta was the subject of a worldwide manhunt before being caught at an Internet cafe in Germany.  He has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and will appear in court next year.
