Simon Whitfield to carry flag for Canada at London Olympics

OTTAWA – Triathlete Simon Whitfield will carry Canada’s flag during the opening ceremonies at the London 2012 Olympics on July 27.

Whitfield, 37, who is from Kingston, Ont., won a gold medal for Canada at the 2000 Sydney Games where triathlon made its debut. He also won silver at the 2008 Beijing Games.
