LONDON, Ont. – A former television news anchor in London has pleaded guilty to assault.
Dan MacLellan, 38, had been charged with several assault offenses following an incident last December with a woman he had been seeing.
A summary of the offense that was undisputed by MacLellan says he shook the 34-year-old woman before pushing her and putting her in a headlock during an argument at her home.
The former anchor apologized for his actions, and resigned in March from his job at CTV London.
Three other assault charges filed against MacLellan are being dropped as a result of Thursday’s guilty plea.
He has received an absolute discharge and will not have a criminal record after one year.
