Three people sent to hospital after fire in Kanata

KANATA-A quiet Saturday morning at a row home on McCurdy drive in Kanata was interrupted Saturday because of a kitchen fire.
Firefighters were called out around 6:51 a.m., when they arrived they found the blaze in the kitchen at 172 McCurdy Drive.
The people living in the home had evacuated, as had those living in neighbouring units.
The fire was brought under control at 7:08 a.m. and paramedics treated three people including a fire fighter who suffered an abdominal injury, a 57-year-old man with burns to his hands, a 20-year-old woman who suffered an asthma attack because of smoke inhalation.
All three were brought to hospital and none of the injuries are considered serious.
How much damage and how the fire started have yet to be revealed.
