OTTAWA, Ont. – The flu is quickly spreading in Ottawa.
Ottawa Public Health says there are 201 confirmed cases in the capital. There were only three at this same time last year.
The large number of cases has lead to long lineups at walk-in clinics and other health centres, forcing some to close early. Emergency rooms at the Ottawa Hospital are getting 50 to 60 more visits than usual.
Ottawa Public Health insists that it’s not too late for you to protect yourself by getting a flu shot.
You can get the shot at most doctor’s offices, walk-in clinics and some local pharmacies.
