City staff getting Presto update

OTTAWA, Ont. – The City’s Transit Committee is getting an update on the troubled Presto Card System.

The update comes just days before 10,000 of the cards are handed out to the public to help with the testing process.

The cards will be available starting on Friday at a first come first serve basis and if you can pick yours up at any OC Transpo sales and information centre — located at the St. Laurent Shopping Centre, The Rideau Centre, Lincoln Fields, and Place d’Orleans.

The testing phase will continue until April, when the city will have to decide whether or not to go ahead with the program as planned. The Presto card program was originally suppose to begin in July of last year.
