Ottawa, ON – The Ernst and Young Centre will play host to the second annual Ottawa Comiccon from May 10 – 12 and sci-fi fans won’t want to miss it.
The three day event is packed with plenty of panels, activities, and of course – celebrities.
Organizers announced that ‘X-Files’ star, Gillian Anderson, would be headlining the event, a major coup as she rarely makes appearances at conventions, especially in Canada.
Also on the list:
Adam West and Burt Ward – The original Batman and Robin.
Jonathan Frakes – Commander William T. Riker from ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’
Wil Wheaton – Wesley Crusher from ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’, also known for being Sheldon Cooper’s nemesis on ‘The Big Bang Theory’
Felicia Day – Created, wrote, and starred in the web series ‘The Guild’ about online gaming
Billy Dee Williams – Lando Calrissian in ‘Star Wars’
Dave Prowse – The man beneath the mask, as Darth Vader in the original ‘Star Wars’ movies
Nicholas Brendon – Xander from ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’
Jewel Staite – Played Kaylee Frye in the shortlived Joss Whedon show ‘Firefly’ and follow-up movie ‘Serenity’
Comic book fans will be pleased with the roster of creators also scheduled to attend including:
Award-winning penciller George Pérez, legendary storyteller Mike Grell, and known for their work on the X-Men series Chris Claremont and Nick Bradshaw.
Tickets for Ottawa Comic Con go on sale Thursday and are only available online.
Those looking for weekend passes will want to snap them up quick as they sold out for last year’s event.
The sell out came as a shock to organizers, who had only planned for 5,000 fans to take part but instead were greeted by 20,000 people who wanted to take part in the city’s first Comiccon.
