Super Bowl 47 has been dubbed the Harbaugh-Bowl with brother John and Jim Harbaugh coaching opposing teams, the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.
Kick-off is Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
The 49ers are going for a record tying sixth championship. The ravens are trying to win a second.
Planning for the Sunday’s Super Bowl started about two years ago, and security has been a major consideration.
Approximately 15,000 police officers from more than 70 agencies are stationed throughout the city of New Orleans. As game time approaches the perimeter of Mercedes-Benz Superdome will be secured, according to ABC’s Jim Ryan.
If you are planning to enjoy a drink or two while watching the game remember police will be out in full force with RIDE spot checks all across the province.
Special attention is being paid to areas where super bowl parties are being held.
The OPP also reminds those hosting Super Bowl parties that they are responsible for their guests as they leave the event to ensure that they get home safely.
1310News will have updates during the game.
