Apartment fire at Bank Street

Ottawa Fire crews were busy the night of Sunday, February 17 containing a fire at 1365 Bank St.
Several emergency calls from other individuals in the building reported smoke coming from the 18th floor.
The blaze was under control by 10:45 p.m. and a search of the apartment revealed that no one was inside the specific unit.
Other evacuees from the building were taking shelter in parked O-C Transpo buses.
Traffic in the area was slow and motorists were asked to use alternative roads.
