Pedstrian struck by vehicle in Kanata

OTTAWA, Ont. – A collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle has sent a teenaged girl to hospital in serious condition.
Ottawa paramedics responded to the collision on Shirleys Brook Drive and Kin Ross Private in Kanata just after 7:30 a.m.
The girl, 17, had been crossing the street in front of an OC Transpo bus when she was struck by a passing vehicle. She was thrown to the ground by the estimated 35-40 km/h impact.
She was treated by paramedics on scene before being taken to hospital with a closed head injury, as well as abdominal injuries.
