Two people sent to hospital following apartment fire on Lebreton Street South

Ottawa Fire crews were on scene Saturday morning after being called to a two alarm blaze at a four-storey apartment building in Centretown.

The call came in around 4:40 a.m. to 345 Lebreton where a fire had broken out on the first floor of the building.

Residents from 43 units were evacuated.

Three people were treated for smoke inhalation, two of whom were sent to hospital for further treatment.

Ottawa Paramedics, along with The Red Cross, remained on-hand to help the evacuated residents.

Lebreton St South was closed between Carling Ave and Daniel McCann St as fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
