Comic book fans had a unique chance to add to their collection on Saturday as part of Free Comic Book Day.
The event is to promote new titles coming out or books already out on store shelves. The hope is that people read the free book and come back for future issues.
At Legends, Heroes and Myths on Montreal Road, they had DC’s new Superman book and Marvel’s Infinity.
“Once people get in and see a free book, they tend to look around and usually find something that interests them,” Rob Zedic with Myths, Legends and Heroes told 1310News.
He said the usually plan promotions around the event – including a clearance sale and older books they typically do not carry – to attract customers and increase sales.
