OTTAWA – Benjamin Taylor has been sentenced to six years in jail for the stabbing death of Scott Ledoux, 22.
A jury acquitted Taylor, 20, of second-degree murder last month in the stabbing Ledoux at an Orleans St. Patrick’s Day party in 2011, but instead convicted him of manslaughter.
The defence argued that Taylor was defending himself when Ledoux wouldn’t leave the party, describing Taylor as a skinny, scrawny 18-year-old, trying to defend himself against a bigger, stronger Ledoux. Taylor hosted the party.
An autopsy revealed that Ledoux had alcohol and cocaine in his system the night of the stabbing.
