OTTAWA – Ottawa firefighters were busy battling a blaze at a two-storey home in Ottawa’s west end Sunday night.
Crews were called to 275 Black Sage Crescent around 9:10 p.m. after the house was struck by lightning, setting the siding on fire.
Crews reported open flames in the walls on the second level and called in a working fire.
Ottawa Paramedics, Ottawa Police, Ottawa Hydro and Enbridge Gas crews were all called to the scene to assist.
All residents were out of the home when crews arrived and no injuries are reported.
Damages are estimated at $30,000.
At one point, the power was out to more than 25,000 customers in the Fallowfield Road and Garvin Road area. Power has since been restored.
