No charges laid in fatal Hwy. 17 crash near Pembroke

PEMBROKE, Ont. – No charges will be laid in a Pembroke crash that claimed a woman’s life.
Ontario Provincial Police said Nicole Fortier, 88, of Sturgeon Falls, Ont., died in hospital after the Tuesday morning crash.
Police said she was driving near the intersection of Highway 17 and White Water Road when her car collided with a Mack Truck.
Police said the truck driver was also hurt, but is expected to recover.
A stretch of the highway was closed for several hours Tuesday while police examined the scene.
