Fire on Donald St. sends one man to hospital

OTTAWA – One man has been taken to hospital after a fire at 208 Donald St.
Crews were called to the scene, near the Vanier Parkway, early Monday morning, where they found a home heavily involved. The blaze broke out in the basement around 7 a.m.
A 57-year-old man has been taken to hospital with first and second-degrees burns. He was also treated for smoke inhalation, and was in serious condition when he arrived at the hospital.
Damage is pegged around $400,000.
Donald Street was closed between the Vanier Parkway and Quill Street, but has since reopened.
