EMBRUN, Ont. – The Eastern Ontario Health Unit has lifted its boil-water advisory for Embrun.
The advisory had been in place since 6 p.m. Tuesday, when a small amount of e.coli was found in the water system.
“A routine water test came back with possibly contaminated water,” Dr. Paul Roumeliotis told 1310News on Tuesday. “It came back contaminated with coliforms and possibly e-coli…not alarming numbers, low numbers, but we do not tolerate even low numbers and we don’t want to take a chance.”
The advisory was lifted after two clear tests separated by a 24-hour period.
For more information, residents should call the village of Embrun at 613-443-1747 or the Eastern Ontario Health Unit at 1-800-267-7120.
