Severe thunderstorm watch for most of eastern Ontario

OTTAWA – Severe thunderstorms are moving through eastern Ontario.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for Ottawa, and most of eastern Ontario.

Environment Canada had issued Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for areas south of Ottawa, Thursday afternoon. All were downgraded to watches by 4:30 p.m.

A watch is issued when there is the possibility of severe weather occurring. A watch is upgraded to a warning when the severe weather is occurring or is imminent.
