Murder has devastated Winchester: North Dundas mayor

OTTAWA, On – A joint murder investigation is underway between Ottawa police and the OPP in connection with the murder of Melissa Richmond, 28.
Her body was found on Sunday near the South Keys parking lot in Ottawa’s south end.
North Dundas Mayor Eric Duncan told 1310News it’s a tragic day for the community.
“I know in the past couple of days as people were trying to spread the word about trying to find Melissa, the community really came together to try to help out best they can.”
Winchester is in North Dundas and is home to about 2,400 residents. Duncan told 1310News residents will lean on each other.
“I know it’s very tough for people but it’s a tight knit community,” Duncan said. “We’ll hopefully get through this together.”
Police have released few details and there are no suspects.
