OTTAWA – The voice of country music radio in Ottawa and the Valley will soon sound very different.
After more than 30 years as a personality on CKBY, Mark Papousek has announced he is retiring, and on Wednesday, he did his last full “Mark in the Morning” show.
Listeners have been waking up with Mark each weekday morning for the past 28 years.
It’s an official goodbye just yet. Mark will be around to help with the transition into the new morning show in September and October and will be doing the Country Classic show on Sundays on Country 101.1.
Mark recently received the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for his community work, having raised millions for local charities during his time with CKBY.
Mark is also a member of the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame.
