OTTAWA – The trials for two men charged with first-degree murder in the death of Michael Swan are set to begin Monday.
Kyle Mullen, 22, and Kristopher McLellan, 23 of Toronto, were arrested near Gananoque soon after the killing; police used a cellphone taken from the murder scene to track them down.
Sam Tsega, 22 of Ottawa, recently had his second-degree murder charge in the case upgraded to a first-degree murder. He’s been suspended from Carleton University where he is supposed to attend classes while out on bail.
His trial is scheduled to begin in March.
Dylon Barnett, 22 of Toronto, will be tried separately in October of 2014.
Michael Swan was shot three times in a Moodie Drive Home in February of 2010. The evidence in the case is under a publication ban.
