New polymer bank notes to be unveiled Thursday

OTTAWA – The latest polymer bills will be unveiled in Ottawa Thursday.

Five and ten dollar bills are getting the polymer treatment with new security features that make counterfeiting difficult.

The new five dollar bill is expected to include an image from Canada’s space program, while the 10 dollar bill will have a train on it.

These are the last bills to be completed after the rollout started in 2011 with the new polymer hundred dollar bills.
