Former bus driver pleads guilty to sexual exploitation

OTTAWA – A former bus driver has pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation.

Richard Chiasson, 51, made sexual advances toward a 15-year-old girl whom he was a private driver for; he took her to speech-therapist appointments each week.

In a victim impact statement, the girl’s mother said her daughter is still cowering in the darkest corner of her mind.

The girl, who cannot be named, didn’t come forward until Chiasson was fired from the bus company for other reasons.

He will go through sexual behavior assessment before sentencing in February.
