Fire forces family from Orleans home

OTTAWA – A fire in Orleans has forced a family of six from their home.
Crews were called to 1969 Montmere Ave. around 7 p.m. Monday to find the living room wall above the fireplace ablaze.
Fire crews were able to quickly put the fire out and contain the damage to the fireplace and surrounding walls.
Fire officials say the probable cause is a faulty natural gas appliance. Damage is estimated at $60,000.
