Senior struck by OC Transpo bus dies

OTTAWA – An elderly woman struck by an OC Transpo bus near a west-end mall has died.
The 74-year-old woman was hit outside of the Bayshore Shopping Centre on Tuesday, December 3 around 4:30 p.m.
The details surrounding the incident are unclear, but police said the woman was not run over by the bus, but perhaps collided somehow.
Police have revealed that the woman died sometime between Thursday and Friday.
Craig Watson of the Amalgamated Transit Union calls it “a tragic accident,” and is calling for more caution around crowded malls.
The investigation continues while the driver, an eight-year veteran with a clean driving record, remains on leave.
