OTTAWA – Lawyers are making their final statements at the coroner’s inquest into the death of Eric Leighton.
The statements come after a week of testimony from 16 people who either witnessed or responded to a shop class explosion in May of 2011at Mother Teresa High School.
The blast killed the 18-year-old, who was cutting a barrel in the class.
Once final submissions are made, deliberations will begin before the jury is asked to make recommendations on how to prevent similar accidents in the future.
