Porter adds new fee for checked baggage

Porter Airlines has introduced a $25 checked baggage fee on all domestic flights.
Porter is feeling the effects of a weak Canadian dollar, stubbornly high fuel prices and the continued uncertainty around its jet expansion plan.
The carrier is the first in Canada to add the new cost onto the first checked bag on flights, and it appears it may not be the last airline to do so.
Westjet is studying the possibility, while Air Canada says there are no plans to introduce a checked baggage fee on domestic flights.
