Herongate shooting victim still refusing to cooperate with police

OTTAWA – A man shot in the head in the Herongate area is still refusing to speak to police.

The 22-year-old underwent surgery and is still recovering, but police say he is still not cooperating with their investigation.

The shooting happened Tuesday afternoon around 5:20 p.m. on Cedarwood Drive near the Herongate Mall.

Police believe two men who knew each other got into an argument that ended with shots being fired between them. Witnesses said as many as nine shots were fired.

The other gunman fled in a taxi and police are still looking for him, although the guns and gangs unit has not released a description at this time.
