Three women injured in collision in Barrhaven

OTTAWA — Three women are in hospital and two are in serious condition after a pickup truck crashed into a parked rental van.
The collision took place just after 11 a.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of Calderwood Way in Barrhaven, when the truck struck the rental van women were loading equipment out of, hitting and dragging the two women for about three metres.
A 34 year-old woman had her leg trapped under the van until neighbours lifted it, letting her free, and is currently in hospital in serious condition with leg and head injuries.
A 30 year-old woman was also found with serious head and rib injuries and is in serious condition at hospital, while the 34 year-old driver of the truck suffered an arm injury and is in stable condition.
The Ministry of Labour is investigating, along with police.
