Toxicology report confirms MDMA ingested at rave

OTTAWA — Police have confirmed that a 20 year-old woman who is still hospitalized and in a medically induced coma had taken MDMA, formerly known as ecstasy, at the Escapade Music Festival over the Canada Day Weekend.
The tests did not contain any toxic substances and the drugs were not tainted.
Toxicology testing continues on a 19 year-old woman from Montreal who died hours after arriving in hospital after also ingesting pills and police it could take months for the results .
The investigation was launched after two separate incidents in East and Central ottawa at the local raves.
There is currently nothing to suggest any foul play, and the incidents are not believed to be connected.
